Our Story
It’s been quite a journey for Slice + Dice to get to where it is today! My name is Samantha and I started Slice + Dice in 2019 as a passion project pop-up event in various venues around Norwich.
I did all of the baking myself and with the help of some very supportive friends and family I hosted pop-ups around my full time job. After realising I enjoyed teaching games and serving vegan bakes and treats more than my regular job and with the wonderful response the events had, I decided to quit my job and find Slice + Dice a permanent home.
At the start of 2020 I found our home on Saint Benedicts Street and was about to sign the lease when the pandemic hit. For the rest of the year I kept delivering vegan bakes around the city, patiently waiting to be allowed to get the plan back on track.
I finally signed the lease in March 2021, started hiring the rest of the team and we opened our doors for the first time in May that year. Since then the games library has expanded, the team has grown, we’ve introduced meet-ups, special events, bottomless brunches and basically had a whole lot of fun.
Throughout 2022 we realised we had outgrown our first home so by the end of that year we’d relocated further up the road to where we are now at 10-12 St Benedicts street.
Where we are now…
Moving to our current location meant we can do more of everything. We’ve got more games than ever (over 350 at the last count), more tables, we do more events including regular games of Blood on the Clocktower and we even have a private function room upstairs!
Our new home is perfect for us, it feels like we were never anywhere else and we’re really finding our groove now. Our chefs are constantly knocking it out of the park with their plant based menus, proving that vegan food is for everyone. Our wonderful staff know more games than ever, it’s genuinely our favourite part of the job to help pick the perfect game for your group and teach you the rules! We’ve got a cocktail menu we’re really proud of (all with game pun names), a selection of local beers and spirits along with a signature housemade strawberry lemonade that we usually can’t keep up with the demand for!
We’ve been honoured to be a part of so many people’s lives. We’ve played host to numerous dates both friendly and romantic, introduced friends at our social events, catered a wedding, hosted hen and stag parties, birthday parties, office parties and catered at conventions to name a few occasions!
Whether it’s been for big event or just a regular Tuesday night, Slice + Dice has grown beyond my wildest dreams and I’m so proud of the space we’ve created.
We’ve got lots of exciting things planned for the rest of 2024 and beyond so watch this space…
