Luxor

A simple competitive game for 1-4 players controlling a team of loot-grabbing archaeologists!

Luxor may look like a lot when you get it out of the box but we promise it isn’t! It just takes a couple of minutes to put the tiles on their relevant spaces on the board and then when you get going the game is really simple but a lot of fun!

The aim of the game is collect the most points and you do this by collecting various treasures and making sets on your way into the temple, and the first two players who make it to the tomb of the pharaoh end the game and also get extra points.

Each treasure has a number of archeologists on it and you need to have that number on the tile in order to collect it - simple! Each player starts with 2 archeologists and has an extra 3 to add along the way.

Luxor has a really great hand management mechanic where each player has a hand of 5 cards, each card with a number of spaces for you to move or a different type of movement. Players can only select the card on either end of their hand and then when they draw an extra card, it has to go in the middle of the 4 remaining cards. So movement is really simple, but not all of your cards are available to you and you have to plan your upcoming moves based on the cards in your hand.

Luxor is for 1-4 players, lasts around 45 minutes and is for players aged 8+

Why we love it:

Luxor is the perfect mix of simple whilst still being a lot of fun! The hand management mechanic is one of the best we’ve seen and adds a layer of required planning to your turns without making the game over complicated.
