Slice No Dice: Japanese Small Plates

Slice No Dice is back, with a Japanese Small plates edition for one night only!

The next event in our Slice No Dice plant based dining series is a special Japanese Small plates menu. This event will put our amazing chef’s skills front and centre, with no dice or board games involved at all.

The event will be held in our main restaurant on Tuesday 19th August and no games bookings will be allowed! This evening is all about the food and will be a fully restaurant vibe.

We’re hard at work on testing the menu but our current plan is below (we may make tweaks between now and the event!)

  • Miso Soup - Made from scratch inhouse

  • Triple Sesame Edamame - Made with toasted white and black sesame seeds and sesame oil

  • Sunomono - Cucumber and wakame salad with seasoned vinegar

  • Yaki-Onigiri - Grilled rice balls filled with shiitake mushrooms pickled in soy sauce. Topped with a sweet miso sauce and wrapped in nori

  • Okonomiyaki - Japanese teppanyaki savoury pancake with shredded cabbage, yamaimo, pickled ginger and shiitake mushrooms. Topped with okonomiyaki sauce and Japanese mayo

  • Yasai Gyoza - Vegetable filled gyoza served with a dipping sauce

  • Nasu Dengaku Bites - Panko crumbed aubergine bits topped with a sweet miso glaze

The evening will run in staggered sittings in order to minimise the pressure on our small kitchen. There are a limited number of tables available so we’d recommend grabbing yours before they go!

Game-lovers fear not, the full Slice + Dice experience isn’t going anywhere! Normal gaming tables will be available as normal for the rest of the week.

How to book:

2 person tables will require a £5 deposit which will be taken off your final bill on the night as long as your whole party attends.

3-4 person tables will require a £10 deposit, we’ll drop you an email once you’ve booked to ask if you’re a group of 3 or 4 and the deposit will be removed from your bill on the night as long as your whole party attends.

If you’re a solo diner or larger group then drop us an email at bookings@sliceanddice.cafe with your preferred time and we’ll look to add you in!

We hate having to do deposits but as we’re a small independent business trying something new, we just have to do this to protect ourselves from no-shows!
